The Radeon RX 6700 XT was unveiled a week ago, but it won’t be on sale until March 18th. We still have only a rough idea of its performance, but today new data has appeared on the Web.
In the Geekbench benchmark, the card scores 55,278 points using the Vulkan API and 102,831 points with OpenGL.
As you can see from the table, in the first case, this is a very mediocre result, since even the RTX 3060 is much faster. But here it is worth noting that this is a problem of this benchmark mode as a whole, since the same RX 6800 XT lags very far behind the RTX 3080 here, despite the fact that in games these adapters are as close as possible.
As for the OpenCL mode, the situation here is, apparently, closer to reality. In particular, AMD’s new product sits between the RTX 3060 and the RTX 3060 Ti. However, in games, everything should be somewhat better. AMD itself has promised that the RX 6700 XT will be on par with the RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070.
