The deadline for registration for the printed and digital versions of the National High School Exam ends at 23:59, Brasília time, this Saturday (21).And either ) 2022. All persons interested in taking the exam, exempt or not, must register through the exam website.
The tests will be applied in all Brazilian states, on November 13th and 20th. For the first time, the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (inep ), which organizes the Enem, made it possible to pay the registration fee through pix and credit card, in addition to the traditional boleto.
Applicants, however, should be aware that after selecting the payment option, it is not possible to change the choice. The deadline to pay the fee, in the amount of R$ 85, runs until Friday (27).

Participants who identify themselves and want to be socially recognized for their gender identity (transsexual, transvestite or transgender participant) and who already have their name registered in the IRS will be identified by the corporate name at the time of registration.
However, it is necessary to confirm it on the Participant’s Page, within the Enem registration environment, between June 23 and 28.
For candidates who want to be identified by their social name and who do not have their name registered with the IRS, Inep advises that a request for treatment be made after registration, in the period from June 23 to 28.
For this procedure, it will be necessary to present a list of documents proving the conditions that motivate it: current, clear, individual, colored photo, with a white background that fits from the head to the shoulders, full face, without the use of sunglasses and headgear (cap, hat, visor, cap or similar).
You must also send a scanned copy, front and back, of one of the valid official photo ID documents.
Gateway to higher education
The National High School Exam assesses students’ school performance at the end of basic education.
Over more than two decades of existence, it has become one of the main gateways to higher education in Brazil, through the Unified Selection System (Sisu ) and initiatives such as the University for All Program (ProUni ). Public and private educational institutions use Enem to select students.
The results are used as a sole or complementary criterion for the selection processes, in addition to serving as a parameter for accessing government aid, such as the Student Financing Fund (Fies ).
They can also be used in the selection processes of Portuguese institutions that have an agreement with Inep to accept exam scores. The agreements guarantee easy access to grades for Brazilian students interested in pursuing higher education in Portugal.
How to register
To register, you need to follow a few steps:
- Access the Enem page: the forms are only filled in on the internet;
- Personal data: enter CPF and date of birth. Then, fill in a form with your personal data, such as identity number and address;
- Create a password: it will be the same login to consult results and participate in selection processes;
- Select a language for the exam: in the test, the candidate will need to attest to knowledge of a foreign language, it is necessary to choose between English or Spanish;
- Choose the city where you want to take the exam;
- High School Information: enter requested data about your high school status;
- Socioeconomic form: fill in your information about income and family group;
- Boleto: at the end of the registration, print the ticket and make the payment by the due date.
