Recently in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, police fined the driver of a Tesla Model 3 electric car, who was driving on autopilot while the man was asleep at the wheel.
The police received a call, to which the nearest patrol car quickly responded. The video from the police video recorder shows that the driver’s eyes were closed while driving and his head was lowered.
The police car turned on the headlights and signaled to stop, but the Tesla driver did not react and continued to move for several more kilometers at a speed of over 130 km / h. The police then turned on the siren, after which the driver pulled over to the side of the road.

During the conversation, which lasted several minutes, the driver repeatedly denied that he slept behind the wheel, despite being seen by the police. The driver insisted that he was just tired, but did not sleep. It was later confirmed that the car was moving on autopilot, although the driver continued to deny this. Since he was stopped for the third time while asleep at the wheel, he received 4 penalty points in the driver’s license. After 12 points, the driver’s license is canceled.
We have already reported how Tesla Model 3 on autopilot took off from the road and crashed into a tree, and Elon Musk finally admitted that creating self-driving cars turned out to be more difficult than he thought.
