The Swiss driver Jason Dupasquier, 19, died after the accident at Mugello

He had had an accident on Saturday during the Moto3 race at the Mugello circuit, but despite the intervention of the doctors of the Careggi hospital in Florence Jason Dupasquier died at the age of 19, from serious injuries sustained following the fall. The very young Swiss driver was overwhelmed by his KTM.

Hospitalized in conditions that immediately appeared desperate, at the Careggi hospital in Florence they operated on him during the night, but he died on Sunday 30 May. He had had several traumas to the skull, chest and abdomen.

The accident occurred during qualifying for the Mugello Italian GP on Saturday 29 May, when Dupasquier lost control of his Ktm at Arrabbiata 2, considered one of the most difficult on the Tuscan circuit.

Who was behind him inevitably hit and overwhelmed him. The pilots ran grouped to take advantage of the opponents’ slipstream. The Spanish rider, Jeremy Alcoba, and the Japanese one, Ayumu Sasaki, who followed him and hit him came out unscathed from the accident, the young Swiss remained motionless on the ground.

Jason Dupasquier was born in Bulle, in the canton of Friborg, and was the son of a motorcycle racer, he was only in his second year in the world championship, after competing in less important competitions.
