Taiko's Layer 2 Ethereum scaling solution project has launched its mainnet.

According to the statement, this was preceded by a two-year development period. The team launched the final sixth testnet, called Katla (Alpha-6), in January.
Taiko uses Based Contestable Rollup, a customizable rollup design with multiple proofs.
With the launch of the mainnet, users were able to participate in staking, gaming or trading through decentralized applications on the network. Initially, transfers between Taiko and Ethereum via the official bridge are limited to 15-minute periods, but the developers intend to reduce and remove them in the future.
The Taiko team announced an airdrop of 5% of the total supply of 1 billion TKO tokens.
