Everything seems to indicate that the next mission of Bombón, Bubble y Acorn will have to wait a little longer to reach television, since the first episode was discarded by the production house CW.
The rejected pilot starred Chloe Bennet as Bombón, Dove Cameron, who plays Bubble, and Yana Perrault as Acorn. The three actresses and the writers of the series will remain in the project, which will be reimagined and improved.
The reason we make pilots is because sometimes something is missing. We believe in this cast, the writers, the producers, and the Warner Bros. studio. But in this case, it didn’t work out. However, as we see elements that could result, we want to give it another try. This first attempt may have been too exaggerated and not so realistic.

According to Pedowitz’s statement, it is believed that this decision came after a series of fragments of the script that were leaked and were published in different accounts of Twitter, as they showed a more adult and somewhat risky side of the iconic characters that we already know.
Even so, Pedowitz assured that he, Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier, the writers of the series, along with director Maggie Kiley will continue to strive to show The Powerpuff Girls like modern twentysomethings.
Be that as it may, this remake, with all these changes and the decision to rewrite history, the long-awaited series will arrive sometime between the fall-winter season of 2022.
