This Friday (1st) there is another hearing in the process that investigates the aggression of businessman Thiago Brennand, against model Helema Gomes.
The case was recorded on video and took place in 2022, at a gym in São Paulo. The hearing will be held at the 6th Criminal Court of the São Paulo Court of Justice (TJSP) and is scheduled to start at 9am.
This is one of the nine lawsuits in which the businessman is a defendant in the São Paulo Court.
Cases of rape and aggression involving Thiago Brennand came to light after the publicity of the attack against Helena.
In September 2022, the businessman fled to the United Arab Emirates, but was deported back to Brazil to answer the crimes for which he responds as a defendant this year. Brennand is currently imprisoned at the Pinheiros Provisional Detention Center.
Other accusations
Cases of rape, false imprisonment, domestic violence, bodily injury and aggression involving Brennand came to light after the video of the aggression at a gym in São Paulo.
After the release of the videos, at least 11 women sought the Public Prosecutor’s Office reporting other attacks.
Then, in October, the court ordered Brennand’s arrest, but he fled to Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates.
The Justice of São Paulo even decreed preventive detention after the businessman did not return to the country to serve the sentence, whose warrant was fulfilled by the Federal Police (PF) in the Arab country.
In early April 2023, the businessman’s defense asked for the arrest warrants to be revoked, so that it would be possible for him to return to the country. However, the São Paulo Court of Justice (TJSP) denied the request.
On April 16 of this year, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security informed that Brennand’s extradition was authorized by the United Arab Emirates.
In this way, the businessman would be sent to Brazil so that the Justice could arrest him, according to the preventive arrest warrants. The next day he was arrested and sent to Brazil; Brennand arrived on the 24th of April.
Currently, the businessman is being held at the Provisional Detention Center I of Pinheiros, in the capital of São Paulo.
