Timothée Chalamet to play Willy Wonka in new Warner Bros movie

Timothée Chalamet will be the new Willy Wonka in the latest production from Warner Bros. A film that will explore the beginnings of the famous chocolatier before he became the king of sweets.

Deadline was in charge of confirming it, reporting that the tape titled simply as Wonka will have multiple musical numbers that will put Chalamet’s skills to the test after months of training for the iconic role.

The origin story is inspired by Roald Dahl’s classic novel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and will focus on Willy Wonka’s youth, his adventures, and the decision that led him to become the most famous chocolatier of all.

Paul King will be in charge of directing this film that he himself wrote with Simon Farnaby, with the help of Simon Rich, Simon Stephenson, Jeff Nathanson and Steven Levenson. Wonka will be produced by Luke Kelly and David Heyman, who also produced the films for Harry Potter.
