On Wednesday (3), the singer used his Instagram profile to take a stand on what happened and condemned its use for something that deviates from his real idea.

“White Boy Summer was meant to be fun, playful, and a celebration of white boys loving beautiful queens of all races. Anything else that has been twisted to support any kind of hate or bigotry against any group of people is deplorable and I condemn it,” he wrote.

In 2020, Chet was criticized by netizens on X, formerly Twitter, after his participation in the Golden Globes. On the red carpet of the awards, he was filmed imitating a Jamaican accent.

A year later, during the release of the controversial single, he received criticism again when he appeared wrapped in a Jamaican flag, for no apparent reason.
