The attack of a toucan on a bird’s nest in Minas Gerais surprised and scared a family in a farm, in the city of Matheus Leme.
Initially shared through TikTok this Thursday (2), the video shows the moment the animal destroys the nest and snatches a smaller bird. The incident took place in November of last year.
Carina Coelho, who was responsible for recording the video, explained to CNN the scene.
“Everyone started thinking it was wonderful! The animal is really beautiful. Since everyone was excited, they continued filming. I don’t know if you can tell, but it all happened so fast.”
“Nobody had any idea that toucans ate birds, so we tried to understand what they were doing! If he was picking fruit, if he was destroying the nest. Nobody would have the courage to try to hurt him, so it was just screaming trying to scare him away”, said Carina.
“But when he caught the bird it was a total shock! We screamed in panic and were caught off guard. Some laughing nervously, others crying, but all in shock. I spent the whole afternoon talking about it and praying for the toucan not to come back”, he added.
