Transport strike cancels hundreds of flights in Argentina this Wednesday (30)

A strike in Argentina’s transport sector canceled almost 300 flights this Wednesday (30). Dozens of flights with Brazil were cancelled.

In addition to the airline sector, the strike will disrupt train, subway, truck, motorcycle, taxi and maritime transport services.

The strike was called by the National Transport Board, made up of several unions from different modes of transporting people and cargo, against the economic adjustment policies promoted by Javier Milei’s government, such as those that include privatization plans, subsidy cuts and reduction of the state structure.

Some unions of teachers, university workers and customs workers also joined the strike. Social movements announced that they will participate in the protest by distributing meals. There is also a forecast of a bus strike in the capital and greater Buenos Aires next Thursday (31).
