Real heroes don’t wear capes and many of them work in hospitals. Doctors, nurses and health personnel have shown us over the last two years the great vocation they have and how they have given everything of themselves to get ahead after the pandemic that changed our lives.
Of course, they have not only faced the pandemic, their professionalism and dedication they bring with them at all times, like the story of the nurse who saved the life of a little girl while traveling on a plane.
Through the Twitter account of Ian Cassette we learned that on a flight from Pittsburgh to Orlando, a baby passenger began to have difficulty breathing, even her complexion turned purple. Fortunately, nurse Tamara Panzino was traveling on the same plane and reacted assertively, not hesitating to help when the parents of the three-month-old girl alerted the flight attendants.
Of course, the girl’s parents were very scared and appreciated the timely action of the nurse, as well as all the crew and passengers, because if they had not had Tamara’s great help, the result might have been different.
Tamara is a retired nurse and the heroine of this story. According to local media, before her parents’ call for help, she began to massage the baby’s chest and legs and shortly after, she heard how the little girl began to breathe again.
When you have to step up and do the right thing, you do it. It was a happy story and it made me feel very good.
With Tamara’s experience, it is natural that she reacted this way and knew the proper way to care for the baby. However, this anecdote makes us question them about the importance of knowing the basics of first aid.
Naturally it is not the same way of proceeding when it comes to an infant than to an adult. However, we should know the most basic tools in case they are ever required and we are not fortunate enough to have a doctor or nurse nearby.
