United States President Donald Trump received Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Tuesday (4). The two leaders answered questions from reporters in the Oval Hall.
Prior to the formal meeting with Netanyahu, Trump, as he answered a reporter’s question, said he would support an effort to permanently reset Gaza Palestinians to places where they can live without fear of violence.
The US president said he and his team have discussed the possibility of resettlement with Jordan, Egypt and other countries in the region.
He said he would like to see an agreement to “reset people permanently in pleasant homes and where they can be happy and not be shot, not to be killed.”
Trump also ordered the end of US involvement on Tuesday with the United Nations Human Rights Council and continued to interrupt UN Humanitarian Aid Agency for Palestinians, Unrwa. The measure coincides with Netanyahu’s visit, who has long criticized Unrwa.
Unrwa provides care, health and education services to millions of Palestinians in Gaza, West Bank, including East Jerusalem, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan.
