Trump shares research that associates his victory with the word “revenge”

The Republican pre-candidate for President of the United States, Donald Trump, published a survey on the Truth Social platform – a social network developed by one of his companies – this Tuesday (26), highlighting that the word that voters most associate with a possible second term under his command is “revenge”.

With the campaign intensifying before the first contest of the caucuses, which will determine the Republican candidate for the White House, Trump shared the research after another publication in Truth Social, made at Christmas, in which the former president asked his political opponents to “rot in hell”,

The fact that the former president republished the research, presented in the form of a word cloud with “revenge” at the center, in bright red capital letters, suggests that his agenda of “retribution” for attacks, which he himself describes , is very much on your mind as the United States enters an election year.

The survey was conducted by British research company JL Partners.

Trump and many of his allies have pledged to investigate, incarcerate and take revenge on his political opponents if he wins the 2024 presidential election, in a likely rematch against Democratic President Joe Biden, who will run for re-election.

Facing dozens of federal charges, many related to his attempts to overturn his 2020 election defeat, Trump claims he himself is the victim of a revenge campaign orchestrated by Biden and the Justice Department.

Trump, 77, who is the clear favorite for the Republican presidential nomination, denies any wrongdoing.

In early December, former Trump advisers Steve Bannon and Kash Patel, both still close to the former president, said on a podcast that Trump was “serious” about taking revenge on those he considers his enemies.

Trump himself has repeatedly promised retaliation against his political opponents during a possible second term, suggesting he would direct federal law enforcement agencies to investigate them.

In an interview with conservative media personality Sean Hannity in early December, Trump promised not to abuse his power or become a dictator, “except on day one.”

Taken together, the comments foreshadow a difficult and turbulent election season. The Iowa caucuses, which kick off the race for the Republican presidential nomination, are scheduled for January 15, and Trump and his allies will hold a series of campaign events in the state starting January 3.

The Republican's main rivals for the party's nomination, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, will also campaign intensely in Iowa and the second caucus state, New Hampshire, in the coming months. days.

In Tuesday's social media post, Trump shared the results of a poll commissioned by DailyMail.com in which voters were asked to name the word they most associate with Trump's plans for a second term.

The results, presented in the form of a word cloud, indicated that “revenge” was the most popular choice. “Power”, “dictatorship”, “economy” and “America” completed the top five.

In the publication in Truth Social on December 25, Trump directed his attacks at those who disagree with him politically, whom he called “thugs”.

“May they rot in hell,” he wrote. “ONCE AGAIN, MERRY CHRISTMAS!”, he added.

A representative for the Biden campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In a December 21 memo, Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez portrayed his rival's candidacy as a threat to democracy.

“He is waging a campaign of revenge and retaliation — and at the expense of Americans’ freedoms,” she wrote.
