You Tucuruvi Academics announced this Friday (22) on Instagram their plot for the 2025 carnival. “Assojaba – The Search for the Mantle” is the school samba theme that maintained its position in the special group .
The story of the Tupinambá cloak addressing its artistic and symbolic value for indigenous memory in Brazil. More details will be released on April 13th. on the court of the samba school in the north of São Paulo.
The research and definition of the theme had the support of the leadership Glicéria Tupinambá and the plot will be developed by carnival artists Dione Leite, Yago Duarte and Nicolas Gonçalves, in addition to researcher Vinícius Natal. The cloak is a symbol of the memory and resistance of the indigenous people and dates back to the first encounters with Europeans who arrived on the Brazilian coast.
Tucuruvi paraded in 2024 covering the history of religion and philosophy “Ifá”, obtaining a score of 269.4.
