A jailer was killed from explosion that struck bus today in the northwest Turkish her province Bursasaid Governor Yakup Janbolat, adding that he is believed to have been provoked by improvised explosive device.
It is not clear who carried out the bombing, Janbolat said, adding that the bomb was placed next to an electric pole and detonated remotely while the bus carrying prison staff was passing by.
One person was seriously injured from the blast while two or three others were injured but discharged from the hospital, the governor added.
“All units of the security forces are working on the issue from all sides. “We will try to resolve the issue and arrest the perpetrators as soon as possible,” said Janbolat, adding that the justice and home affairs ministers would travel to Bursa.
Although attacks have dropped significantly in recent years, similar attacks, according to the APE-MPE, have been carried out in the past by Kurds, leftists and Islamist fighters.
