Turkey: Fierce confrontation between Erdogan and Babacan with… diapers, pretzels and suzukis

While the Turkey lives to the rhythm of presidential elections of May 14a fierce feud has erupted between Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his former minister, Ali Babacan, who is reportedly preparing to contest the anointing of the six-party opposition alliance.

It all started with the comments of the current president of the DEVA Development and Progress party about funds from state funds transferred to Baykar, a company of his son-in-law’s interests Erdoganwhich manufactures Bayraktar drones.

“Only the deranged attack their own country’s defense industry. I consider it normal for Greece to complain. As it is our duty to defend every value in our country, so it is our duty to give an appropriate response to this vicious attack.

Do you know what competition is? Pull to sell diapers, or knit fabrics. It’s not your business. You were with me for 15 years and you learned nothing from me“, answered the Turkish president at a meeting of the KO of his party.

For his part, Babajan did not let it fall down: “Is it a shame to sell diapers? Yes, I come from a family of artisans. Yes, when I was a child, even when I was in elementary school, I worked on the looms. I worked since I was young. I have always worked with honest workers. Fortunately, I always made my living. And I continued to work to make a living with my family and our employees. The money we made was honest. Like millions of people in this country, I am honored to work and earn my living.

I now stand before you as a politician. Mr. Erdogan, you also used to sell pretzels, cookies and sudzukics. There were years when you earned your living by the sweat of your brow. When you entered politics, you said “I only have one ring”. What happened next?».
