Change of guard at Turkish Ministry of Finance. THE Lutfi Elvan resigned and was replaced by Nureddin Nebati, at a critical time for the country going through an economic crisis.
In the government newspaper and with a decision signed by President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan“Nuredin Nebati is appointed Minister of Finance, in a position left vacant by Lutfi Elvan, who submitted his resignation, which was accepted.”
Afterwards, the Communications Director of the Turkish Presidency, Fahrettin Altun, in a message on his Twitter account, said: “I congratulate Dr. “Nureddin Nebati, who became the new Minister of Finance with the support of our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and I wish him every success in his new duties.” THE Elvan it was Minister of Finance from November 2020.
Who is Nureddin Nebati?
The new Minister of Finance of Turkey was born on January 1, 1964 in Viransehir of Shanhurfa. He studied Political Science at University of Istanbul and more specifically in the Department of Public Administration. He then received a Master’s degree in International Relations from the same University and a PhD in Political Science and Public Administration from Kocaeli University.
Party member AKP for many years, served as head of the party’s finances between 2014 and 2015. He has also been an MP elected in Constantinople, but also in Shanhurfa.
THE Nebati has appeared supportive of the approach taken by Recep Tayyip Erdogan for low interest rates and recently stressed that “the attacks on the Turkish pound” will not last long.
