Turnover of 272% in accommodation and catering in April

The turnover in the accommodation and catering sectors increased by 272.6% in April, on an annual basis.

In particular, in the accommodation sector the turnover amounted to almost 222 million euros, recording an increase 518.7% compared to the same period last year, while in the focus it was around 150 million euros, strengthened by 134.2%.

Analytically, as announced by ELSTAT, for the companies in the Accommodation sector (branch 55 of the NACE Rev. 2 classification), with the obligation to keep bibliographic books, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in April 2022 amounted to 221,978 .672 euros, recording an increase of 518.7% compared to April 2021, where it had reached 35,880,264 euros.

For companies in the Catering Services sector (sector 56 of the NACE Rev. 2 classification), with the obligation to keep bibliographic books, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in April 2022 amounted to 149,376,858 euros, marking an increase 134.2% compared to April 2021, where it had risen to 63,794,118 euros.

Cumulatively for companies in the Accommodation and Catering services sectors (branches 55 and 56 of the NACE Rev. 2 classification), with the obligation to keep bibliographic books, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in April 2022 amounted to 371,355,530 eurosnoting an increase 272.6% compared to April 2021, where it had risen to 99,674,382 euros.

For the companies of the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover of the year 2021 greater than 1.0%, the biggest increase in the turnover in April 2022 compared to April 2021 was observed in Peripheral Unit of Rhodes (1,042.7%) and the smallest increase (111.5%) was recorded in the Regional Unit of Evia.
