You know it true that from June 2022 it will be impossible to see television content if it is not used new generation television sets or decoders, that is, that they are compatible with the new transmission and coding standards that correspond to the code Dvbt-2 / Hevc throughout the Italian territory? In reality, the change, as announced by MISE, the Ministry of Economic Development, will take place in stages, as early as September 1, 2021.
- From the September 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021, it will touch Valle d’Aosta, Piedmont, Lombardy, Trentino, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Emilia Romagna;
- From the January 1, 2022 to March 31, 2022, it will be the turn of Liguria, Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio, Campania and Sardinia;
- From the April 1, 2022 to June 20, 2022 it will touch Sicily, Calabria, Puglia, Basilicata, Abruzzo, Molise, Marche.
The goal of the new transmission will be to improve the quality of the images produced, allowing for a much cleaner view. This however it will make televisions that are unable to reproduce high definition images obsolete, easily those bought before 2017 (all TV sets that were purchased from 2017 onwards are legally compatible with the DVBT-2 Hevc standard).
To check if your TV is compatible with the new reception signal, just tune in channel 100 (Rai) or 200 (Mediaset) and check if the message appears «Test HEVC Main10“. If so, it means your TV is compatible with the new digital switch. If, on the other hand, the message “channel not available»Or if the screen is black, then it means that the TV is not compatible. Before carrying out this operation, it is necessary to re-tune the channels. In case you don’t change your TV, you can always buy an external decoder to access the new digital.
It will also be necessary to check that your satellite decoders support the new system. In any case, the verification procedure is simple: just check the reception of Canale 5 HD or Cine34. Those who cannot see these two channels will have to change the decoder or use a Cam to be inserted into the TV.
In short, probable expenses in sight. For almost a couple of years, the Government, precisely to help Italians change their television, has allocated a bonus of 50 euros for families with ISEE up to 20,000 euros. But with the latest implementing decree, the audience of beneficiaries has expanded and the incentive has been increased to 100 euros, whatever the amount of the ISEE.
The new Bonus TV can be used only in the presence of a scrapping of the old models. The discount will be used directly by the retailer when purchasing the product. The bonus can be redeemed with a QR code or alphanumeric code. In turn, the retailer will be able to recover the discounted amount via a tax credit. The procedure for registering resellers will take place on the same platform that is currently in use for incentives without scrapping.
Currently, the 2021 TV bonus is not yet available. However, in the coming weeks there will be news on this as the first part of the process will start in September.
