Twitter is looking for specialists in the team to work with digital assets

The social network Twitter attracts cryptoasset specialists to the TwitterCrypto team to work on designing its own cryptocurrency applications and supporting third-party projects.

Tess Rinearson will lead the TwitterCrypto team. Prior to joining Twitter, Rinearson worked at Tendermint on the Tendermint Core engine, and previously at Interstellar on the Starlight solution to enable two-way payment channels on the Stellar blockchain. Revealing plans for upcoming work Rinearson wrote:

“First, we plan to support the growing interest in using decentralized applications to manage virtual goods and currencies, as well as the work of their communities. We will explore how the ideas of crypto communities can help us push the boundaries of what is possible through identity, community, ownership and more. ”

She also expressed the hope that the TwitterCrypto group will “help shape the future of decentralized social media” and become a “center of excellence” for everything related to the blockchain on Twitter.

“As I gather the team, we will work to find out what cryptocurrencies can do for Twitter, as well as what Twitter can do for cryptocurrencies,” Rinearson said.

In September, Twitter officially launched a bitcoin tip system to reward users. The Tip Jar feature allows you to request, receive, and send tips in BTC through third party payment channels.
