Twitter releases edit button in test for subscribers; see how it works

Twitter announced this Thursday (1st) that it is internally testing a button to edit tweets – a feature long requested by users. Initially, the tool will roll out to premium subscribers in the coming weeks.

“If you see an edited Tweet, we are testing the edit button. This is happening and you will be fine,” the company wrote.

In the testing phase, Tweets may be edited a few times within 30 minutes of being posted.

Edited posts will appear with an icon, timestamp, and label to make it clear to readers that the original Tweet has been modified.

By clicking on the icon, viewers will be able to see the Tweet’s edit history, which includes previous versions of the post.
