Two people died and two others were injured in the aftermath abduction of two minors and the clash that followed between the perpetrators and the police who pursued them in the southern province of Fars Iranaccording to the IRNA news agency.
The incident unfolded on Saturday in the city of Shiraz, when three armed men kidnapped two minors – a boy and a girl – and tried to escape. A chase ensued during which an exchange of fire took placesaid police director Roham Habibi.
One of the perpetrators was killed and another was arrested, while the third is being sought by the authorities.
Habibi announced that the girl was released and has minor head injuriesbut the boy was found dead. A police officer was injured during the clash, he added.
