Two people were killed today when an Israeli drone hit the car they were traveling in near the southern Lebanese city of Barassit, the Lebanese news agency NNA reported. According to unconfirmed information, Hezbollah fighters were in the car. However, so far there is no confirmation either from the pro-Iranian movement or from a representative of the Israeli armed forces. Since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas on October 7, there have been almost daily hostilities between the Israeli army and Lebanon’s Hezbollah, which supports the Palestinian Islamist movement. Tensions on the Lebanese-Israeli border escalated after the July 30 assassination of a senior Hezbollah official in Beirut, for which the movement’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, vowed revenge.
