Two more secretaries and a director of the Ministry of Economy resigned from their positions.
According to a policy analyst at CNN Renata Agostini, who spoke with members of the portfolio this Wednesday (19), secretaries of Minister Paulo Guedes’ team minimized the impact of the departures.
According to them, there are casualties linked to the end of the term and the possibility of restructuring in the portfolio, which would be leading team members to relocate to other positions outside the government at the beginning of the last year of the term.
Since the end of last year, informs Agostini, there has been a decree prepared for publication by the Economy to reformulate secretariats and create a new research secretariat integrating the Institute of Applied Economic Research (Ipea) and the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
The Secretary of Management of the Special Secretariat for Debureaucratization, Management and Digital Government, Cristiano Rocha Heckert, are leaving the economic team; the Secretary of Evaluation, Planning, Energy and Lottery, linked to the Treasury Department, Gustavo José de Guimarães e Souza; and the Program director of the Federal Revenue Service, Mauro Sergio Bogea Soares.
The exemptions, upon request, are published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Wednesday. In the case of Heckert and Gustavo Guimarães, the exemptions are retroactive to January 7 and 13, respectively.
According to the Ministry of Economy, Heckert was chosen in December to be the new director-president of the Complementary Pension Fund for the Federal Public Servant of the Executive Branch (Funpresp-Exe), so he is leaving the position.
Gustavo Guimarães will be replaced by Fernando Serta Meressi, who is currently undersecretary for government planning, but had already been appointed as an eventual replacement for Guimarães a few months ago. According to the Economy, Gustavo Guimarães is going to the Legislature.
The IRS, on the other hand, only reinforced that Soares’ dismissal took place at the request of the server. There is no information about the replacement.
