Grandparents are usually second parents, in them we find refuge, love and many hours of good anecdotes, without forgetting the delicious food prepared with an exquisite seasoning and a lot of love. However, as much as we want them to be eternal, unfortunately it cannot be that way.
What is possible is to help them with everything they need, just as Javier and José did, two little ones who, despite not having the adequate resources, managed to take their grandfather Victorio to receive the vaccine against covid-19.
The love for his grandfather is enormous
Javier is 11 years old and his brother José, seven, live in the town of San Isidro Monjas, in the Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán municipality, Oaxaca, and they are very close to their grandfather, a 76-year-old man, who loves them very much and is usually with them frequently.
Older adults have been one of the first people to receive the Covid-19 vaccine in Mexico. But not all grandparents are capable of moving by themselves to the vaccination centers that are installed in the localities, so Javier, with the help of his brother, made sure that his grandfather received the medicine.
They managed to go to the vaccination center
Nancy GarcÃa, the mother of the minors, asked her son Javier to take his grandfather to the vaccination center, as she could not accompany them, since she had to take care of her youngest children. The children knew that the vaccination center was a bit far from home and their grandfather could not stand for long, but that was not going to prevent them from completing his homework.
So they took a stroller out of their house and asked Don Victorio to sit in it. In this way, the two little ones would push the stroller to the right place. When they got there, the scene caused a stir, not only because of the great effort of the children, but also because they were being an example of true family love.
The whole family has received help
Javier and José are part of a low-income family and although their mother does everything she can to bring something to eat every day, their living conditions are not good, so for these children it was important that their grandfather get vaccinated. This way they would prevent them from catching the coronavirus.
Due to the effort and love that these children showed for their grandfather, the Municipal DIF gave Victorino a wheelchair, in this way he can move more quickly and comfortably. In addition, they provided food support, so they will have a little more food available at home.
