Two teenagers have been arrested on charges of planning an attack on a Christmas market in Germany

The German authorities they announced that arrested two teenagersone in North Rhine-Westphalia and one in Brandenburg, on the suspicion that they were planning an attack on a Christmas market. The Minister of the Interior of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia GermanyHerbert Reul, said the teenagers, aged 15 and 16, were arrested as there were suspicions that they were preparing an attack on a Christmas market, without specifying which one, as reported by APE-MPE.

His counterpart in Brandenburg, Michael Stübgen, said in a statement: “Brandenburg police have arrested a young Russian who is suspected of preparing an attack.” A well-informed source, who asked not to be named, said that the 16-year-old is a Russian citizen originally from Chechnya.
