Xiaomi has begun to distribute the MIUI 12 stable shell based on the latest version of the Android 11 operating system for the Redmi K20 smartphone.
The Redmi K20 series debuted in China in May 2019. In the first month of sales, the milestone of 1 million was reached. Three million smartphones were sold in four months. The smartphone originally came with Android 9 Pie. In December 2019, the Redmi K20 received a stable version of MIUI 11 based on Android 10. Interestingly, the “big brother” of the model, the Redmi K20 Pro, has not yet received a stable Android 11.
The 2.4GB firmware 188.8.131.52.RFJCNXM also brings the February 2021 Android security update. The update is available to a limited number of Chinese users. Distribution will expand when the manufacturer is satisfied that there are no major glitches or shortcomings.
On the international market, the model is sold under the name Xiaomi Mi 9T. It is strongly not recommended to install Chinese firmware on the international version. However, now we can expect the imminent release of the corresponding update for the Xiaomi Mi 9T.
