The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant is preparing to release a new family of trucks and minibuses, which should replace such popular favorites as Loaf and Tadpole.

A whole selection of live photos was published by Motor.ru. It is noted that prototypes of new commercial UAZs were removed during testing. As the source notes, UAZ plans to produce a whole family of cars of different carrying capacities, with all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive.

Also, journalists were able to confirm from a “competent source” that sea trials of a new commercial model are being conducted in the south of Russia – or rather, a whole family of machines.

The design of the new cars was created by the Italian studio Carcerano Creative Engineering, which had a hand in the Fiat 500, Iveco Stralis and the interior of the Lada Priora. The body structure was developed by the engineering bureau Tesco Go (partner of Audi, Nissan and JMC). The ZMZ-409 engine with a volume of 2.7 liters is used the same as that of the UAZ Cargo, but a diesel version will also be offered. For all-wheel drive minibuses, a gasoline eight-cylinder ZMZ is used.

Interestingly, with the new UAZ family, it will be able to “master” the new load capacity limit – 3 and 4.5 tons.
