A Russian cargo ship carrying weapons to the strategic Fidonisi, off the coast of southern Ukraine, sank after being hit by Western-built missiles, a Ukrainian official said late Friday night.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that the Russian Black Sea Fleet Vassily Betsch was badly damaged when it was hit by missiles fired by surface Harpoon ships supplied to the Ukrainian army by Denmark, despite having anti-aircraft missiles.
“It was later reported that he had sunk,” Maxim Martchenko, commander of Ukrainian forces in Odessa, told the Telegram.

There has been no comment from Russia so far.
Fidonisi was occupied by Russian troops in the first days of the war, in late February.
The Vassily Bets is not the first ship lost by the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the war. Moscow has confirmed the sinking of the Saratov dock, as well as the fleet flagship, the cruiser Moscow.
