Ukraine says North Korea is supplying Russia with munitions

Ukraine says North Korea is supplying Russia with ammunition. “We can say that cooperation between North Korea and Russia continues,” said Andrii Yusov, representative of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence, in an interview with Ukrainian state media this Wednesday (13).

He added that such information between countries is being intercepted and recorded.

Russian orders are mainly for artillery shells and MLRS (missiles), Yusov said, referring to rocket launchers.

“This is an important factor that will be felt on the battlefield, unfortunately,” he highlighted, adding that Ukraine is working on an appropriate reaction to this cooperation.

Yusof has not provided any evidence that North Korea is supplying Russia with weapons, nor has the CNN managed to verify the statement.

The comments came after US officials warned that Russia and North Korea could reach an arms deal that could see Pyongyang supply arms to Moscow.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and President Vladimir Putin met on Wednesday in Russia’s Far East.

Putin was later asked if he discussed military-technical cooperation with Kim. The Russian leader acknowledged certain restrictions are in place, which he said Moscow fully complies with, but admitted there are areas open for discussion and consideration.
