More than 406 civilians have been killed in Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion on February 24, according to the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), in information released on Monday (7).
Another 801 civilians were injured, the OHCHR said, saying the actual numbers should be “considerably higher”.
These figures include data collected from 4 am local time on February 24, 2022, when the Russian Federation’s armed attack against Ukraine began, and midnight on March 6, 2022, the OHCHR said.
According to the UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR, in 11 days of war more than 1.7 million people fled Ukraine due to the war started by the invasion. “This is now the fastest growing refugee crisis in Europe since the Second World War,” it said.
