The number of people not included in the workforce, or “people outside the workforce”, ie people who are not working or looking for work, amounted to 4,329,768 people.
In particular, the number of people out of the workforce under the age of 75 amounted to 3,130,103 people. Their percentage decreased by 2.9% compared to the previous quarter and by 2.5% compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
It is pointed out that, during the DG quarter, the labor market was affected by the application of special operating rules in companies as well as by the implementation of measures for the protection of public health and the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, throughout the country.
