A delayed and insufficient reaction, the representative of the Israeli ministry, Lior Halat, essentially replied. He expressed his regret, in his message to AFP, for the fact that “it was necessary for UNICEF to pass almost two months to speak for the Israeli victims (…) after an international campaign and pressure”.
He also lamented that Kathryn Russell did not name Hamas in her message to X. “It’s another way to close one’s eyes to the atrocities committed by Hamas (…) by not mentioning Hamas, it legitimizes its activities,” he said.
In Paris, the French Minister responsible for Equality between men and women, Beranger Couillard, denounced today “mass rape” perpetrated “on Israeli women” during the October 7 Hamas attack.
“We must not hesitate for a second to recognize the mass rapes committed against Israeli women. Some were mutilatedCouillard said in response to questions on Radio J.
“THE rape it is used as a weapon of war no matter what the conflicts are,” said the minister, who called it “unbearable to differentiate according to the conflict, according to the origin of the persons who may suffer it.”
“Violence against women also includes the rape of Israeli women,” the minister underlined, expressing her regret over the fact that “a small but noisy part” of the feminist movement would like us not to talk about them.
Feminist associations and international feminist organizations were accused on social media and in during demonstrations, mainly in Paris and New York, that they delayed to condemn these sexual abuses and that they did so at a minimum.
