U.S. companies continued to add jobs at a healthy pace in November, confirming that the job market continues to draw momentum from the strong recovery in the U.S. economy.
In particular, the private sector added another 534,000 jobs last month, up from 570,000 in October, according to a survey by the ADP Research Institute. Analysts’ average estimates in a Bloomberg poll showed an increase of 525,000 positions.
The ADP figures come shortly before the US Department of Labor on Friday announced jobs in the economy as a whole (public and private) and the unemployment rate. Analysts expect the economy to add another 573,000 jobs, driving the unemployment rate lower to 4.5% from 4.6%.
