US donates more than 2 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines to Brazil

This Sunday morning (21), Brazil received a donation of a batch of 2,187,300 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine against Covid-19, provided by the United States government.

This donation, received at Viracopos International Airport in Campinas (SP), was made through a bilateral agreement between the US and Brazil to combat the coronavirus.

This is one of the partnership actions between the US and Brazil to fight the virus. In June of this year, the United States donated 3 million doses of the Janssen vaccine, single-dose, to the country.

In addition to vaccines and other medicines, the US government has already contributed R$110 million in direct assistance, while the US private sector has contributed more than R$412 million.

The US also donated 1,000 lung ventilators, protective equipment and offered technical cooperation to Brazil.
