US: Kenneth Starr, the prosecutor in the Clinton-Lewinsky case, has died

He passed away yesterday Tuesday (13/9) at the age of 76 Kenneth Starrthe independent prosecutor whose investigation led to the impeachment of Bill Clinton in 1998 over revelations about the scandal Monica Lewinsky and the subsequent perjury of their former president USA.

Kenneth Starr breathed his last in Houston due to complications from surgery, according to his family.

He gained worldwide fame in the late 1990s by researching it much acclaimed pink scandal: the relationship of the then US president Bill Clinton with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. The investigation’s findings became a best-seller when it was released as a book titled “The Starr Report,” revealing scandalous details of of Clinton’s affair with Lewinsky. The then US president was finally acquitted by the Senate in 1999.

Kenneth Starr was married for 52 years to his wife, Alice, and had three children and nine grandchildren. He will be buried in Austin, Texas Cemetery.
