Three people were killed after a shooting at a convenience store in downtown Washington, in the United States, this Tuesday (24), police said. The suspect is on the run and is considered dangerous.
Police were called to a Circle K convenience store in Yakima, washingtonaround 3:30 pm local time, when three unidentified people were found dead, Deputy Matt Murray told reporters.
Two victims were shot inside the store, while a third was shot outside. Authorities said it looked like a random act of violence.
The motive is unknown and the suspect is considered a danger to the community, Murray said.
“It seems to be a random situation. There was no apparent conflict between the parties,” he said. “The man just walked in and started shooting.”
This week, the United States was horrified by more than one shooting happening consecutively in California, which left a total of 18 dead.
After opening fire at the store, the suspect ran across the street and fired at a vehicle, forcing the driver to move to the passenger seat. The suspect stole the car, described as a gray or silver Chrysler sedan, and fled, police said.
The driver’s condition, including whether he was injured, is unknown.
Police collected security footage and eyewitness accounts of the scene as part of the investigation. The police department released a photo on social media of a man dressed in all black, including a hat, sweatshirt and jeans, and white Nike sneakers.
