USA – Oxford High School Shots: A fourth student succumbs to his injuries

A student who was injured yesterday, Tuesday, during a shooting at a high school in the northern United States succumbed to his injuries, increasing the death toll to four, local police announced today.

“We are saddened to announce that a fourth victim has succumbed to his injuries,” the Auckland County Sheriff’s Office said on its Facebook page, adding that he was a 17-year-old student.

Justin Schilling, 17, died at the hospital at around 10.45 local time (17.45 Greek time), said Sheriff Michael Bouchard.

Three students were killed yesterday, Tuesday during the shootings: Tate Meyer, 16, Hannah Saint Julian, 14, and Madison Baldwin, 17.

Michigan authorities today charged the suspect with the deadliest attack on a school this year for murder and other charges, as investigators try to determine what caused the 15-year-old’s action that killed four students and injured seven other people.

Auckland County Attorney Karen McDonald has announced that the suspect in the deadly shooting incident at the school is named Ethan Kramblay.

The charges include one count of terrorism that caused deaths and four counts of first-degree murder, the prosecutor said during a press conference. “More charges are likely to be filed very soon,” he said.

The previous day, a 15-year-old teenager from Oxford High School in a Detroit suburb of Michigan opened fire, killing three students aged 14 to 17 and injuring eight people, including a teacher.

Six injured students remain in hospital, some in critical condition, while the teacher, who suffered minor shoulder injuries, was discharged from the hospital the same day.

The 15-year-old used a 9mm Sig Sauer SP 2022 semi-automatic weapon, which his father bought four days ago, on Friday, the day of the big Black Friday discounts, according to the police.

“It is clear he went to kill people,” Sheriff Bushar told CNN today, adding that the perpetrator fired at least 30 bullets.

“He shot people from contact, often targeting his head or chest,” he added.

The gunman went to the police inside the school and was taken into custody.

He remained silent about the motives of his act, and his parents asked him not to speak to police, according to police.
