According to local authorities, however, the alleged perpetrator “is no longer a threat to the community.”
The gunman opened fire inside a factory in western Maryland, killing several people, NBC reported.
According to the same report, a police officer has suffered minor injuries.
The city of Smithsburg is located about 110 kilometers northwest of Washington.
