USA: They are asking for demilitarization in the area where the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant is located

The USA they asked Russia to proceed with the demilitarization of the area where the nuclear power plant of Zaporizhia, in order to stop the tension that has developed in the last few days.

Specifically, from the first moment that the war broke out, Russia and Ukraine agreed that the existing personnel would remain at the respective nuclear plants and that Russia would not fully control the facilities.

However, Zaporizhia, which is close to the Ukrainian front lines and is under Russian occupation, has been hit by drones, with Moscow blaming Kyivwhich has not claimed responsibility.

Nevertheless, Ukrainian paramilitary and propaganda groups have “celebrated” the recent strikes.

The White House, through the representative of the National Security Council, John Kirby, told reporters that the administration of President Joe Biden supports the visit of inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to the nuclear plant located on the banks of the Dnieper River, in south-central Ukraine.
