The Ministry of Finance updated the list of bets authorized to operate in Brazil, on Wednesday night (2).
Vai de Bet, a company linked to singer Gusttavo Lima, was included in the updated list for the state of Rio de Janeiro. In the national list, there are now 205 bets managed by 93 companies.
The state lists, which include Vai de Bet, have 18 companies. THE bet did not appear on the initial list released by the ministry on Tuesday night (1).
In a note, the ministry said that “due to errors in the notification reception system, three indications made in accordance with the requirements and deadlines had not been included in the first published national list”.
“Furthermore, a company and its bets were included in the list after confirming that the request had been duly signed by a legal representative authorized by the company”, added the ministry.
As found out by the CNN Vai de Bet requested authorization to operate in Brazil on August 19, 2024. The deadline determined by the government was September 16th.
However, the bet it was only released to operate in the Rio de Janeiro region, authorized by the Rio de Janeiro State Lottery (Loterj). Initially, the company will not be able to operate in other states.
THE CNN questioned the Ministry of Finance about how the monitoring of the Vai de Bet operation will be carried out, and awaits feedback.
Connection with Gusttavo Lima
According to the Court of Justice of Pernambuco, singer Gusttavo Lima acquired 25% of Vai de Bet on July 1, 2024.
Bet and the artist are being investigated for alleged involvement in a criminal organization responsible for laundering money through illegal gambling.
In a live on his social networks, the musician stated that he does not own the company, last Monday afternoon (30).
He said he did advertising for the bet and was, within the advertising contract, entitled to 25% of the company in the event of a future sale.
