The actress Deborah Bloch was confirmed as Odete Roitman in the remake of the soap opera “Anything goes” which will premiere on TV Globo in 2025. The information was confirmed during the event Upfront this Wednesday (16).
The artist also revealed that the killer of the iconic character will not be the same in the reissue of the serial. “Pleasure, I’m Odete Roitmann. There was a lot of speculation as to who would play Odete. The mystery that will now shake Brazil will be: ‘Who will kill Odete Roitman?'”, he said.
Focused on showing the social differences of Brazil in the 1980s, “Vale Tudo” revolved around the mystery of who killed businesswoman Odete Roitman. In the last chapter of the soap opera, shown in January 6, 1989 the public discovered that the killer was Leila (Cássia Kis) .
However, she wanted to kill Maria de Fátima (Gloria Pires) who had an affair with her husband, Marco Aurélio (Reginaldo Faria) having shot the businesswoman by mistake.
At the time, the plot’s authors did everything they could to avoid leaks about the soap opera’s outcome. They even sent the chapter script to the actors with seven pages missing.
The management also recorded five different outcomes on the last day, each with a different killer.
Not even the interpreters knew which one would be chosen. Leila was not one of the main characters in the soap opera and her name was rarely mentioned among the public’s guesses.
However, in the 2025 version, Leila will not be Odete’s killer, and the public, once again, will be left with the question of who killed the character.
The remake of “Vale Tudo” premieres in 2025 on TV Globo, in celebration of the network’s 60th anniversary, with an adaptation by Manuela Dias.
Originally aired in 1988, the plot was written in partnership by Gilberto Braga , Aguinaldo Silva and Leonor Bassères . Starring Regina Duarte and Gloria Pires the plot followed the story of Rachel and Mary of Fatima who will be played by Taís Araujo and Bella Campos in the new version.
