In 2023, during an interview with the “Téte a Theo” channel on YouTube, Vera spoke about her firstborn, who chose to live away from the spotlight.

“She sings very well, dances, has a lot of attributes. But the comparison was terrible. There was no internet at the time and magazines said what they wanted. You couldn't defend yourself. The girl, the poor thing, went to live in New York and stayed there for two years. She gained weight and lost weight, gained weight and lost weight… She returned to live in Brazil and they continued to look after her. Then she went to live in London. There is a good side because she also traveled the world because of this situation”, recalled the actress.

In the late 1990s, Rafaela did some work as a model, acted in musicals and won a role in the soap opera “Viver a vida”, by Manoel Carlos, however, faced with comparisons with her mother, she left the media.

“Currently, she has withdrawn because there came a day when she thought and said: 'I'm going to stop this, I don't want this competition anymore'. Rafaela is much happier these days. It's like that with her and Gabriel (the actress's youngest son). They don't need to stay by my side, appear with me. I really respect their privacy”, added Vera at the time.
