Visa cards will be accepted at all Amazon stores and websites

Visa cards will be accepted at all Amazon stores and websites under a global deal, the two companies announced on Thursday, according to Reuters.

It was recalled that Amazon announced last November that it would stop accepting Visa credit cards issued in the UK due to high transaction fees.

“We recently reached a global agreement with Visa that allows all customers to continue using their Visa credit cards in our stores,” an Amazon spokeswoman told Reuters on Thursday.

An EU cap on card issuer fees no longer applies in the UK after Brexit.

“Visa is pleased to have reached a broad, global agreement with Amazon. This agreement includes the acceptance of Visa across all Amazon stores and websites today, as well as a shared commitment to new product initiatives. “Technology to ensure innovative payment experiences for our customers in the future,” a Visa spokesman told Reuters.

Last month, British lawmakers said they planned to look at increases in Visa and Mastercard charges to businesses after the country’s paying regulator found no evidence to justify the increases.
