Vitalik Buterin Helps Dogecoin Move to Proof-of-Stake

Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin said that almost every major cryptocurrency now has a working plan to transition to a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism. And he confirmed that he is involved in the implementation of such a plan for Dogecoin.

The fact that the transition of DOGE to PoS is in full swing, Vitalik Buterin announced in the new episode of the UpOnly podcast.

Buterin is an advisor to the Dogecoin Foundation – along with one of the creators of the cryptocurrency Billy Markus and Gerard Birchall, representing the legal and financial interests of Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

At the end of last year, the Dogecoin Foundation announced that it was working on a Community Staking system that would allow not only large investors, but the entire community of cryptocurrency holders to receive rewards for participating in the development of the DOGE ecosystem. In addition, it was promised that those who wish would be able to help the community through charity.

Recall that earlier Vitalik Buterin said that Ethereum 2.0 is 50% ready. The full transition to the PoS consensus mechanism should take place in the first half of this year.
