Vivo launches X Fold+ foldable smartphone with stylish design and powerful processor

The foldable smartphone market is developing by leaps and bounds – even if three years ago no one believed that such devices would be in demand, now Samsung is releasing devices in this segment with more than an attractive price. But not only Xiaomi and Samsung are working in this direction, because today, September 26, Vivo officially introduced the world to the latest X Fold + model with a stylish design, a powerful processor and many features that are not always found in conventional flagship gadgets. And this, of course, is the main advantage of the model from its main competitors.

It’s worth starting with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor from Qualcomm, which is currently the top solution for Android smartphones, which is simply not more powerful on the market. But the main bonus of the processor is not in performance, which was actually prohibitive even a couple of generations ago, but in a 30% reduction in energy consumption compared to the previous flagship chip. Accordingly, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 received a 10% increase in performance with a noticeable decrease in power consumption, which is actually a very important advantage for a foldable smartphone with a huge main display.

Actually, X Fold + boasts an internal main display with a diagonal of 8 inches with an aspect ratio of 4:3.55. To protect the LTPO panel with a refresh rate of 1 Hz to 120 Hz, the manufacturer uses a special durable and very thin glass that is applied over the display. Samsung uses a similar solution in its latest Fold 4 – this is probably the exact same display, only with some modifications. The smartphone also has an external display with a diagonal of 6.53 inches with an aspect ratio of 21:9 – it has a sub-screen ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, a front-facing camera in a hole and thin frames.

The company clarified that their foldable smartphone has an advanced hinge that can remain open at various angles – this is convenient for viewing content, video calls and playing games. The smartphone also received a 4730 mAh battery, which is slightly larger than the original device. But taking into account the fact that a more economical processor is installed here, the battery life of the device increased by 2 hours in the scenario with watching video from the gadget’s memory. In addition, the smartphone now supports 80W fast charging technology, which allows you to charge the device from 0% to 70% in just 18 minutes, while a full charge of the novelty takes only 35 minutes. 50W wireless charging is also here.

Unfortunately, for now, the Vivo X Fold+ smartphone is only available for purchase in the Chinese market – pre-orders have already started, and full sales will begin on September 29. For the basic 12/256 GB version of the smartphone, the manufacturer asked for 10,000 yuan, which is about $1,400, while the top-end 12/512 GB version sells for about $1,550.
