Its president Ukrainian, Volodymyr Zelenskysent another angry message to Russia in response to the announcement of the results of the “referendums” of four regions of Ukraine in favor of joining the Russian Federation.
The Ukrainian president during his night speech referred to the contacts he had with other state leaders as well as with the president of the European Council, Charles Michel. He particularly thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, emphasizing that they discussed strengthening Ukraine’s defense.
“Our priority is to coordinate our actions with partners regarding the referendums – fraud organized by Russia and the threats of the Russian state. It’s not 2014 anymore. Clearly, there will be a backlash.”Mr. Zelenskiy emphasized and continued:
“If someone in Russia thinks that they will get away with everything they do in the occupied territories, then that someone thinks that the people have forgotten their very values, frightened by the announcement of annexation, then they are wrong. Russia is wrong».
Speaking about the situation on the war front, the Ukrainian president said: “Everything is clear to us. For those who only understand Russian: If you want to live, run. If you want to live, surrender. If you want to live, fight in your own streets for your freedom. After all, they’ve taken it all from you anyway. Or do you have oil wells? Palaces? Vines? Maybe luxury boats? Or any bank? Why are you fighting with Ukraine? All you have are loans and something to eat at night and now comes conscription. Fight for what is yours and stay away from our country, our soul and our culture».
