On this Wednesday’s CNN Poder panel (19), on CNN Radio, William Waack analyzes the relationship of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) with the demonstrations of public servants for salary readjustments.
For Waack, it is understandable for the elite of the Brazilian civil service to ask for a readjustment, after the President of the Republic announced a readjustment for the category of police officers.
“Everything was quiet, here goes Bolsonaro, to please a group that likes him, particularly the police, and says, ‘I’m going to give you a readjustment’. It’s like kicking the anthill, he’s spread the tension everywhere, all the other categories want a readjustment too – and you can understand”.
“President Jair Bolsonaro’s political wisdom sometimes leaves us scratching our heads. It’s not just the civil service, I’m talking about the elite of the Brazilian civil service, which is super well organized and knows how to defend its interests”, he added.
Waack also questioned how the situation will be resolved, since the sanction of the budget law has to be done by Friday (21).
“I don’t understand how he’s going to solve it. Because he has until Friday to sanction the budget law and there is no room for any readjustment there, including those he initially promised, which are the police. What is the political wisdom in creating a crisis for yourself?
