Netflix announced, this Friday (24), the third film in the “Knives Out” mystery franchise : “Wake Up Dead Man” which debuts on the platform in 2025 .
The private detective Benoit Blanc, played by Daniel Craig , will return to uncover who is to blame in a new mysterious murder. The scenario and new suspects have not yet been revealed.
The franchise, written and directed by Rian Johnson, began with “Between Knives and Secrets” (“Knives Out”, in English), from 2019, in which Benoit Blanc had to discover the truth behind the death of a millionaire writer alongside nurse Marta Cabrera (Ana de Armas).
The detective came back “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” from 2022, on a trip to Greece in which he solved a new murder committed on the property of technology billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton).
Rian Johnson published, on his social networks, a teaser announcing the return of Benoit Blanc for a third film.

“I love everything about whodunnits [gênero de filme no qual é preciso descobrir qual dos suspeitos cometeu um assassinato], but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is. There is a whole tonal spectrum of [John Dickson] Carr a [Agatha] Christie, and exploring that spectrum is one of the most interesting things to do in Benoit Blanc's films,” Johnson published.
“We're about to start production on the third one and I'm really, really excited to share the title, which gives a little hint of where it's going,” he added.
